Govardhan Puja (Annakoot) Vidhi
Govardhan Puja is on Kartik Shukla Pratipada, the day after Diwali. Lord Krishna made the Braj people worship Govardhan Hill to break Indra's ego. On this day, a Govardhan replica is made with cow dung and 56 food items (Chhappan Bhog) are offered as Annakoot.

📋 Puja Procedure — Steps
Step 1: गोवर्धन पर्वत निर्माण
Make a Govardhan hill shape with cow dung in the courtyard. Place a Krishna idol in the center. Decorate with flowers.
Step 2: अन्नकूट (छप्पनभोग) तैयारी
Prepare 56 types of dishes or as many as possible. Arrange all before the Govardhan replica.
Step 3: गोवर्धन पूजन
Offer tilak, akshata, flowers to Govardhan and Krishna. Light lamp. Chant "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya." Circumambulate the Govardhan.
Step 4: गो-पूजा
Worship the cow — apply tilak, garland, feed jaggery and fodder. The cow is an essential part of Govardhan Puja.
Step 5: प्रसाद वितरण
Distribute the Annakoot prasad to family, neighbours, and the needy.
