Sankashti Chaturthi Puja Vidhi
Sankashti Chaturthi falls on every Krishna Chaturthi monthly. It is a monthly vrat dedicated to Lord Ganesha. "Sankashti" means "destroyer of obstacles." The fast is broken only after moonrise. When it falls on a Tuesday, it is called "Angaraki Chaturthi" and is the most auspicious.

- Ganesha idol or photo
- Durva grass (21 pairs)
- Modak or laddoo
- Red flowers
- Betel, areca, clove
- Lamp, incense
- Roli, sindoor, akshata
📋 Puja Procedure — Steps
Step 1: प्रातः संकल्प एवं उपवास
Bathe and take the vrat sankalp before Ganesha. Observe a full fast or fruit-fast through the day.
Step 2: सायंकालीन गणेश पूजन
In the evening, perform 16-step Ganesha puja. Offer 21 durva. Apply sindoor tilak. Chant "Om Gam Ganapataye Namah" 108 times.
Step 3: संकष्टी व्रत कथा
Listen to/read the Sankashti Chaturthi Vrat Katha. Each month has a different Katha.
Step 4: चन्द्र-दर्शन एवं पारण
When the moon rises, offer arghya to the moon. Then eat Modak/laddoo prasad to break the fast.
